I am so friggin' pissed right now!

The closest CBS network TV station to Marquette, MI is the channel 5 station in Green Bay. Due to the 175 mile distance, we get that station via a repeater station on channel 3 in Escanaba, about 60 miles from Marquette. This makes most of the U.P. part of the "home market" area for channel 5 in Green Bay.

Well, the NFL network just announced that unlike last year, the U.P. is not part of the Green Bay station home market after all. Meaning that untold thousands of "Packer Backers" can't see the game Thursday night against Dallas.

No cable company wants to carry the NFL Network because of the insane amount of money they demand. Myself, I'm not a football fan. But I am a Packer fan, meaning I'm not going to subscribe to some schiester extra cost cable or satellite network to just watch maybe one game a year.

I never thought I'd be in agreement with the owner of the Dallas Cowboys over anything. But apparently we both think the NFL Network is full of s**t and can go to hell.

TG-

who are you kidding, you will be too busy to watch the game 'cuz the little brown truck will have paid you a visit and you will be wrenching on your new toys!

fwiw- yeah, it sucks. i agree. but now you know how us local blackhawks fans feel! for 41 years, old man wirtz never allowed home games on tv because he felt it would lower home game attendance. now that the old man died, his kid is going to televise the games- on cable. so its a hollow victory for some if us.

Holmes, you need a satellite dish.
Not a Dish Network or Direct TV dish, you need a talk to Uranus dish like my bro's-in-law both have.. Fred can watch golf from Japan if he wants, Rich can get the network uplinks... kinda weird to watch a Red Wings game still progress while the announcers talk to the statisticians during what would normally be commercial breaks or station ID's...
