I'm getting ready to change my oil/oil filter next week. I purchased the copper oil drain plug washers 3 to a pack (M14 part #65628) from Pep Boys. I have noticed a now and then drip from the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is tight, should I use two washers next time or stick with one washer?

Thanks:dunno

definatly one washer.

if you over tighten it in an attempt to stop the drip, you may strip it and have a serious oil leak coming from the plug.

I put mine on after finding a leak and seeing what some grease monkey had done to my threads. Didn't want to pull the engine to replace the pan in the future so I put in the valve.

Its cheep insurance.

One more washer means one less thread in the hole and a better chance of stripping the hole.
