Are the Luk cerimatalic clutches any good? I may have the chance to get one at Luk employees pricing and since my DMFW is goin i figured might as well do everything.

What are your expiriences with Luk?

Thanks for the input

Absolutely, we do have experience with these clutches. Basically if you browse the archives on TDS, you will find that people rave about them. A con OFE is for an engine with a bit more power than stock, and has a likewise more touchy engagement.

If you are going for basically a stock injectored truck, then stick with the Con O, and with up to Stage 2's, a Con OFE, and anything more than that, consider a Con FE.

Good luck!

I had the LUK cermetallic clutch and loved it very much. The clutch being a little touchy is incorrect. It is real touchy till you get used to it. It is literally like a big rig clutch. It had no slippage at all. I had it on a 94' Dually and I pulled with it. The gentleman who has it now I finally found and he loves the crap out of it too since he found out that I installed the LUK clutch. He said he wondered why it would pull so good and never hesistate when taking off. It would just grab and go with no questions. If you can get it at employee cost i would jump on it in a heartbeat. If I had another OBS I would install it again and again and again.

I am still running the stock clutch but have been researching a new one. Most everything I read favors the SouthBend clutches over the Luk. The Luk was the pick of the litter for years but with the new injectors and higher horsepower that guys are making now the Luk clutches were not taking the abuse. SouthBend makes clutches for the PowerStroke that will handle up to 850hp. I am planning on a Con-OFE that is good for 400hp. Don't get me wrong the Luk clutches are good but guys seems to prefer the SouthBend. SouthBend is all that Bean and Swamp sell anymore..

The cermetallic is rated at 1000 hp. Now keep in mind I got the one that was cermetallic on both side of the clutch disc.
