In a van down by the river...
Does anyone know what damage, if any, I'd be risking by running THESE (the Teflon-coated ones) rims on a '02 F350? I emailed American Racing to ask if that model is hub-centric or lug-centric but they haven't gotten back to me yet. If they're hub-centric, that would be great b/c they are EXACTLY the style/color I like but I don't want to risk damaging my truck if they're inappropriate or unsafe.:dunno

if it uses a taper seat, or a shanked (mag) lug nut, it's lug-centric

if it uses a washered nut (like the factory Ford ones), they're hub-centric

either way, with modern machining techniques and machines, they can get a lug-centric wheel pretty darn close to center, anyway.

Any tire store worth their salt should be able to install them for you.

PS... get too crazy on tire size, NO tire store can balance them properly (I tell guys, "anything over a 285, and you might as well be riding on footballs")

I have 38's on my truck and it rides better than it did with the stock 265's!
And I didn't even bother balancing them!

Ok it rides better to me but I like my trucks big. But they are not balanced and I have never had any vibrations even on the hwy at 80 mph.

jvencius, I have 20 inch mickey thompson classic lock wheels which are lug-centric and I have never had any problems. I believe the American Racing rims you are looking at are also lug-centric.
