I just got an 05 F250 crew diesel fx4 with 17" wheels. I am going to lift it a little, possibly a leveling kit, or a 3 inch kit, but will buy a 4 inch if I can find one I like. I already bought a set of Weld EVO Velocity 8s in 20x9.5, and if I measured correctly they have 5 inch backspacing(measured from mounting flange to rear of rim). I plan to run 35x12.50s,, possibly 37x13.50s if they would fit, but am getting comcerned about my backspacing since I read here that the newer SDs have different spacing. Will my combo work, and what does everyone suggest,, Im not going to be able to spend a ton of money, and I need it functional, so I dont want to lift more than 4 inches. Im looking at Toyo mts, Kumho mts, Swamper m16s, and Mud Grapplers. Which tire would everyone recommend? Will my wheels work? Is it worth the extra money to buy a 3 or 4 inch lift when I can buy a leveling kit for less than $200? Thanks for your advice.

The leveling kit is definitely the way to go. It's cost effective and doesn't sacrifice any ride quality. We sell 20 leveling kits to every 1 lift kit lately, people are starting to come around to the idea. The truck looks great and is still fully functional. As far as your wheel offset, you're gonna be cutting it pretty close with that backspacing. Generally on a leveling kit you wanna keep pretty close to a stock offset which on your application would be closer to 5.5"BS. It should work with your truck though. We have leveling kits available in stock if you need help.
