Lifting my 05 PSD. Want the 8" with springs...not blocks. Also want to keep the nice smooth ride on the street. Not too crazy about the ones on P/BAY :sly and the local shops are ridiculously overpriced:rant Any intel on good brands and retailers? I was looking into the rize 4link, but that would set me back a good $1800. Any reviews on this kit? Hopin to run some 38's once the lift is on. Would those rub with articulation or when i max-steer? And want to lose the oem sidesteps but i'm afraid it would expose too much frame and make the truck look like it has a bodylift. Anyone got pics without them? Thanks!:sweet

I have installed a fair amount of lifts and the cheaper ones always seem to have problems. Sagging springs (both leafs and coils), broken mounts and brackets, crapy shocks, etc. I have always had good luck with skyjacker, superlift and pro-comp. (Pro-comp does tend to ride a little stiffer though)

I ran my 38's on 20x10" wheels with 8" of lift and had no clearance issues.

yea im skeptical about what lift to buy. Had a 6" Fabtech on my tacoma and it had the worst quality components ever. Started rusting up after 6 months, Bolts and brackets started to break. Complete nightmare. And it wasn't cheap, Not to mention the crappy-ass ride...never again. Did you go with 15.50 width on the tires? ive always heard good things on superlift and skyjacker...dunno about procomp. Although the robby gordon dual coilover kit looks niiiice. Don't think i'm ready to dish out 5k for a lift though...

My tires are 15.5's. Definetly go with completely new rear springs the add-a-leafs and/or block setups are junk. You also might want to consider investing in rear traction bars.

I run a combo of skyjacker, superlift, and pro-comp in my superduty and have had no problems yet. I also have an older chev which has a superlift suspension it has also been problem free.

I've got the 8" fabtech, radius arm lift, and have had absolutley NO problems with it.:sweet :sweet :sweet
I do get a little rubbing with the 38.5x14.5" tires, but only in tight turns, or in a turn with some good articulation on the front axle. but it's only on the plastic fender liner, which can be trimmed, I'm just too lazy and haven't gotten around to it yet.
Keep in mind the 05's and up have coils up front, not the leafs, so it's hard to compare 99-04's for tire rubbing, ride qualtiy, etc..

Take a look at my avatar, I ditched the OE side steps in favor of AMP research steps, that tuck up under the truck when the doors are closed, and it doesn't expose enough frame to make it look like a body lift. Body lift's will especiall show in the rear fenderwells, as there's nothing there to hide them, even with the "gap fillers".

My ride is a little (very little) rougher than stock, however, I was short on cash, and went with the cheapo shocks, and blocks in the rear, if you get good shocks, and full spring replacements in the rear, it should ride better than it does stock.

Let us know what you decide to do:thumbs

Man your truck looks sweet:sweet Yea body lifts are the worst. I learner the hard way with my old taco. Gap fillers, those flabs of plastic that supposed to hide the gap. those didnt even stay on:rant Full rear leafs is my only option as to how blocks and add a leafs are crap as well. Guess i'll just go with the 15.5 width. These tires seem so huge to me. Lifted the yota 6" susp and 3" body and couldnt even fully clear 35's. But 8" is alot of lift. Im confident that the tires will clear. Probably have to do some plastic trimming. And i wasn't trying to bash fabtech. It was my fault for goin with the basic kit. Guess you get what you pay for. Seemed to have worked for you. Good job, nice rig, and thanks!:thumbs

And i love the amp research steps. Just don't like the $1200 price tag. I could make my own for probably around half of that. How hard could it be? Couple air cylinders, brackets, small compressor, and a sheet of SS. But those are electric right? Anyone ever tried taking a pneumtatic approach? But yea those are badass...im jealous.:sly
