hi im ray from ms., i just got here . i have a 2002 f-250 cc, 7.3 w/119000 miles. very good truck. im the first owner and plan to remain so for a long time. its a 2wd but this suits me fine . recently it has been shutting down as i am coming to a stop. it starts right back up and makes a chattering noise as i pull off after a stop. i keep all maintanance items up to date. has anyone experenced this? and what caused it? thanks for listening ray in miss.

howdy Ray. You will find a ton of info here. It has become my first research site for issues and used long before going to a mechanic.

Im not sure on your issue but someone here is highly likely to be able to help.

Welcome to SDD ray. I would guess you have a bad CPS, but others here with more experence in this will chime in. My last truck was an IDI 7.3, so no help.

Welcome aboard mate enjoy the site, also my 2000 did the same thing ended up replacing the cps and no probs. since. You can p/u one at ford, international, or O riley at least they have a warranty on theirs.

HELLO, MY NAME Is MIKE...I GOT A 2006 F-350 WIT A 6.0L, 3.73 REARS...JUST ABOUT ALL STOCK, JUST HAVE THE BED RHINO LINED AND MAG HYTEC DIFF COVERS...THIS PAST TUESDAY I HAD to DROP MY TRUCK OFF for A SERVICE ENGINE Light THAT SHOWED ITs UGLY FACE...THEY CAME UP AND FIXED THE PROBLEM THAT Was THEY TOLD ME was THE EGR VALVE...IT Was SOOO DIRTY THEY COULDNT CLEAN IT...THEY HAD to REPLACE IT...GLAD IT Was UNDER WARRANTY...ONLY HAVE ABOUT 35,000 MILES...I WasNT HAPPY...BUT BACK ON THE ROAD AND STILL TRUCKIN...
