Learning more about the 7.3

This might seem like a dumb question to most of you but being a first time 7.3 owner, does anyone know of a site that would give me a breakdown on how the 7.3 works? Something that would explain it in terms a backyard mechanic would understand and not a diesel doctor. I hear you guys talking about chip's and etc. and Im lost. As far as I know chips is an old show from the
70's.....I understand chips give you more towing power etc. but dont know why, how or where to install them.

All of these are good! I really liked the maintance manual. Now if I could find a maintence manual like that for my 1997 F-250 I would be set.
