Is there any special way I should clean an LCD monitor? Mine is a little dusty but given how expensive this darn thing was, I don't want to screw it up using the wrong cleaner/cloth to un-dust it.

I took a lightly damp rag to mine, and gently wiped it off. They can get really bad.

There are special cleaners available, I have used glass cleaner, I cant recommend, my brite view screen seems to have a scuff or two from it.
Go to a computer or office place and get the right stuff for the job, it's probably worth it.

you know if you stop putting white out on the screen the need for cleaning will drop off sharply 
we have a small squiggie type thing that has a soft furry thing on it that removes the lint and most other things.
i think its like a micro fiber cloth you clean your glasses with
