big brown truck.....

guess what just showed up:D :D - and showed up the wrong part...:( :(

pic. 1 shows from ebay seller that a relocation bracket is used....not the case

pic. 2/3 shows what came in the box.. and the part number.

ssoooo, i called rough country to get the skinny and according to them (great customer service/response by the way-knowledgable) they guy said i may be getting another visit from big brown for the bracket. upon further investigation, the guy said that was the wrong part for my truck. i need a part #6129. what is the difference you ask. the answer is that the 6125 is too long (i now need to crack open the spring pack clips to get these to fit) or ship back and get the right part #. so i then said can't i just cut it shorter - the guy said by all means. only need to cut off 1.5-2" from the long end and presto fito....

the guy said about a year ago they realized this and started making part #6129 by doing just that - cutting them 1-2" shorter so consumer does not need to remove spring clips... oh, and by the way; he said they sell the same kit i bought for $12 cheaper...  live and learn..
needless to say, my first experience w/ ebay was not a pretty one.

when done or while installing i will try to do up some pixs. but weather is not cooperating here lately.. we are supposed to get 1-3" of snow today and 1-3 tomorrow... :thumbs

if you cut the spring don`t use torches, as the heat will take the temper out the spring.....
use a cut-off saw, chop-saw or even a cut off wheel in a grinder....don`t let a little snow stop you, you waited this long....:roflmao ....

you do have the darndest luck.....:roflmao ....
