What are your kids or grandkids doing, what do they like to do for fun, sports, school, volunteer, anything, lets here about there success's and accomplishments.

My son Wes 17yrs old, summer league high average 24.85 champ. Wes always wanted to see my guns when he was 4 and wanted to shoot them all the time. I remember the first time he shot the 20g at age 7. he looked at me and said do you have more shells then that. Thru the years he has become a good shooter and wishes to pursue shooting further

When our son was in his pre-teen/ early teen years, I had my concerns. I had to "lay him out" once or twice, more so for greatly "disrespecting" his mom than for disobediance.

But in that time period, I would sometimes upgrade our computer. We started with an old XT with a amber monitor. I began by upgrading the mother board to a 286, then with a new VGA graphics card and monitor, later a bigger hard drive and so on.

Every time I did one of these upgrades, the boy would be right there, watching everything I did. By high school, he was the "expert" all the teachers would call to fix some computer or printer problem. He was also going from the high school over to Northern Michigan University to work with the dean of the computer science dept. In his freshman year, he was actually teaching one of the evening computer lab classes.

Now he an information systems engineer for a company in Nashville and has several Dell and Microsoft certifications and qualification certificates. He and his wife just recently built a $250,000 house.

I have to admit that in spite of concerns I had many years ago, I couldn't be prouder of him and the man he has grown up to be.:D:D:clap::clap:

My kids are all slackers, well, except that they all play multiple msical instruments, well. They all play piano, and they all play a string instrument. One was in the top two or three at his high school, which, for a public school has one of the best programs in the nation. The other, sort of gave up playing the bass in high school, except to accompany the choirs that he is in at school, and has received all state honors, and been one of the top two or three in the state the past couple of years. Oh yeah, he is a national Merit Scholar semi finalist. The other two also do well in their music, but are younger, so have not had as much opportunity for accolades.
They also have all been involved heavily with the National Academic League. It is a great program for junior high kids, that is similar to academic decathlon. Not used quite as much, but still a great program and competition.
Other than that, they are slackers.

My son started playing hockey when he was 10yrs old and hasn't missed a season 11yrs later. His tighs and calves are so bulked up now he can hardly find clothes to wear at work.

He started taking college courses between his sophmore and junior years of high school and he continued to take college courses through out high school. As a result he graduated high school in May of 2005......got his BBA from North Texas in May of 2008 and is working in the financial industry now.

As far as hunting he can out shoot his old man any day...........

I got into horses as a result of the kid's half-hearted interest in bows, guns & fishin' poles..

here's the result..

a 4th, 5th and 7th place finish against the best in the US & Canada...

best part, I'm guaranteed a chance to drive my truck for a weekend.

Yes, it is a BT99 golden clays but he used his citori ultra XT to shoot this year. That was his reward from us ( mom & dad ) for shooting so well.
