My truck is a 2002 250 7.3L, I have a Banks: Big Hoss module with Six gun tuner, Intercooler, Quick turbo, wastegate actuator, compressor wheel. K&N air intake, MAGNA flow 4" exhaust and all gauges. I was lucky with this truck because it does have forged rods. I go to allot of truck pulls and recently I have been losing to (I hate to say it) Dodges and chevs. I need something else to add about 80 horse without the truck pull officials seeing it. What do you guys have in mind or heard?

Unless you replaced them aftermarket, you do not have forged rods, you have PM rods, and you are getting pretty close to the limit that I would feel comfortable running at with your current mods, but that is just me. They say 350 to 400 RWHP is when they start breaking, and I don't think you are quite there yet. 80 HP is going to get you really close to the breaking point.

THat said, ways to make an additional 80 HP with your setup:
1.) Call bean, as was recommended. Injectors, and a bigger turbo to clear the smoke and make it into power, will get you there easily. In fact, I'll bet you can just go bigger injectors without a turbo upgrade and get 80 horse, but that is out of my area of expertise (as is a lot of this stuff :D ).

2.) Run propane, which is a risky proposition in a modded rig with PMRs. It will get you your 80 horse, but I cannot promise that it won't break stuff

3.) Run water/meth (50/50). This will get you there, and also control EGTs, but again, like propane, it is not unlikely that stuff will break

4.) Run NOS. Again, should help control EGTs, but may also break stuff.

The comment on having to hide it from the judges makes me nervous. Don't cheat. It is a ruthless cycle, and it takes the entire point out of the idea of sport. If you can't have NOS/pane/meth in your class, then use injectors. If you can't do that, then don't run that class anymore, or just find another way to beat these guys with the truck you have. Just my .02

Are you still running stock suspension? You have to be able to get the power to the ground efficiently. I would recommend swapping the K&N for something that filters a little better, the K&N may flow the best, but from my personal experiences it let small dust particles past repeatedly, which isn't good for the turbo. Why is everyone now starting to beat you? What are they doing differently than they used to?
