I must have that look to me that says, "approach me in a gas station and tell me all about your truck" A couple days ago it happend twice, never before but then two times in one day. The first guy claimed 768 miles out of his 28 gallon tank (27.42 mpg) He must have have the new torque shift 8 speed trans. :roflmao I think when guys say this stuff they don't realize most of us will do the math.

The second guy claimed 18 mpg pulling his 16K 5er @ 75-80mpg.

They were entertaining to talk to but I hope this was a fluke! I don't have time for this in the morning.

REAL TRUCKS don't HAVE spark plugs!

I get some of the tree hugging whackos in their little crackerboxes chiding me for driving a truck that "must only get about 8 miles to the gallon!"

I calmly let them rant and them invite them over to the truck, then I turn on the ignition switch to activate the Lie O Meter. 17.5 mpg is my average for a truck that is just shy of 7000 pounds. When they ask me why I need something so big, I tell them I occasionally take my vacation house with me, all 12,000 pounds of it fully loaded. I ask them if they can do that with their crackerbox Toyota or Nissan. :D

Of course when I pull the fiver, the mileage drops to around 10 to 11 mpg. But that's what the gasser guys get when they DON'T pull anything!

Coming out of JR's Steakhouse (a NICE $100 per person restaurant)
the valet pulled up with the Ex and I overhead one of the snobbish bimbettes waiting for their car say "Could you drive anything bigger?"...

turned around to tongue lash her but the in-law's were just coming out of the door after we celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary so I didn't want to spoil the evening for them...

wonder what the bimbette thought (if she could do that:)) when six adults AND a 4 year old in her car seat drove off with room for more?

course I DID have to give her a puff of smoke to breath as I left ;)

Ok what I with the mileage thing. Of course I don't drive as far as I use to. I use to put 200 miles aday on the PSD. But now I am driving 30 miles aday. I was getting 22 mpg before and now I am getting 11.5 mpg. What are somethings that I can check to try and pick the mileage back up.
