Anyone have a Roomba Vacuuming Robot? We have hardwood floors that I installed last summer and the wife is about to go nuts chasing the dog hair around on it. We are off to the store to get more swifter sweepers right now. She has a friend that has a Roomba and she swears by it but I have my doubts. I think the thing would take a header off the stairs.

Exactly why we got one - dark hand scraped wood floors and a 105 lbs white lab - but mostly an 8 foot east facing window on the back and lot's of glass on the front door on the other side....
the low angle of the sun in the morning and evening makes the dog hair POP out on the floor...

SO, we got the top of the line iRobot when we first moved in last year and gave it a try for the frist 2 weeks or so....
unless they've changed the logic it would go over the same area over and over and get "confused"....

it seemed to go find the perimeter and then try to angle back across to the other perimeter....
in regular rectangular open rooms it did well, but any odd shapes or lots of obstructions like furniture it would go over the same track after a while...

not worth it for us - we returned it...

but you may want to give the latest ones a try and get the optional "virtual walls" to limit the size it will do and limit it from going over the staris... save your receipt though and make sure you can return it....

FYI, we got ours from home depot and they no longer carry them.... wonder if it was poor sales or poor performance and returns ???

You mean you asked? Crumm, thats one of those things that you wait until shes at the hair dresser or store and just go ahead and make the command decision and do. When she gets home..... voila! House is clean and she sniffs in the air and says.... Do I smell exhaust? And you say......... "Nahhh honey, I was just cleaning up a little to help you out and its a new air freshner I though I'd try. You work so hard around here I though I'd just pitch in a little to help you out."

Good idea but since she already caught me trying to sneak it in the back door she might catch on when all her nick-knacks are tipped over.
