Hey, ya'll take a look at this car we had hauled in for a customer of ours in indy, in.

its a SMART car, the model is called PASSION. its alittle ole bitty thang.

anyboyd know much about them? i do know from the stickers in the door jamb, that it is made by Diamler Chrysler, and has to be remodified in the US to meet safey standards, (i think)

it also has a 3 cylinder mercedes benz engine in it. you can shift it manually or let it do it automatically (no clutch either)

me and my dad took it around the corner for a spin, its got some pep to it.

its only 7 feet long.

Well thats why the front end looks like a ramp atty. so you can drive right over it in a head on collision. Supposedly they supposed to be extemely safe maybe it works like in demolition man where it fills up with styrofoam in an accident.

If you check the Escapees RV Club – the club for all RVers website and look at the HDT forum you will see several guys have the Smart on the back of a Volvo tractor while pulling a large fifth-wheel. They just fit sideways on the back of these trucks. They say they feel very safe in them and they get 80 mph on the interstates. They are very popular in Europe where there is a sports car (convertible) and some with diesel engines (no diesel engines in the USA at this time).
