Intermittent SES light

Hello to everybody.

Every once in a while the SES light blinks. Quick flash and nothing else. I notice it when I am pushing it, ie: hard acceleration, mashing the peddle at 65mph just for fun, pulling the trailer up a hill. I have no chip. Just what is in sig. Boost gauge never reads over 15lbs. Pyro is OK, and so is trans temp. Heck, everything looks OK. No code are stored in the computer.

So, what is it?

how long does it stay on for before going out? My light did the same thing before i installed a boost relief valve for the MAP sensor. now it only goes when i'm really haulin a__!

mine does this exact same thing too, I've never worried much about it since it doesnt stay on, I figured it had something to do with boost because it only seems to do it when I'm really pushin it, just like you.

If the light is just coming on and going right back off, then you are looking at an overboost light. However, if your truck is stock and your wastegate is still hooked up, you should never see an overboost situation.

If the light is staying on for a little while 5 minutes or so, then its more likely the 1211 code for ICP high/low. Which means your hpop isn't keeping up like it needs to. I would check my oil and make sure the level is full and not foamy.

In either case, I would get the codes pulled to see what is causing it, I just reread your post and you said the boost never gets over 15, that is nowhere near high enough for an overboost code. Need to see what it has set.
