I have a 2000 F250 with 200,000+ miles on it. I’d like to say I put all of those miles on it but I can’t. I bought it from the original owner (my dad) last year. I recently have been having some issues with it sputtering and on occasion dieing out on me. When it happens the “check engine” light does come on. When it first happened I thought it might be a some bad fuel, but it keeps happening. It does seem to happen more as the fuel tank gets closer to empty. I am not sure if water is the culprit or not??
If anyone is from the Cleveland OH area and has a referral for a mechanic I am open to the idea of taking it to a professional. However, I am mechanically inclined, but I have never worked on diesel engines before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
