Ok so if you've been following my dilema with my pyro you would know I have a hole in my exhaust manifild.

This morning when driving it is relatively quiet if I am on the throttle and putting a load on or accelerating. It was 38 out but I was to full temp half way to work.

When I let off it is extremly loud and you can hear a loud whooshing out the hole. If I give it load or accel it immediately quits.

I've heard this sound for months even after driving for hours, but it always sounded like it was comming out my defroster vent.

My best guess is that is the valve that kills performance every monrning pushing air back in to help it warm up quicker. But I thought this was suppossed to shut off when warm or does it always do it in warm temperatures. I haven't paid close enough attention to the temps when I notice it.

But either way it is extremely loud now. Am I on the right track or is this just the dynamics of a turbo'd diesel engine?

You are on the right track, The EBPV runs (I think) primarily from the engine oil temp, Some one else may know for sure.. The tube from the EBPV sensor on the rt front of the motor that runs back to the valve may be plugged ,also...Rick
