I'm curious to see if there would be any interest in having a pipe custom-bent to go directly from a Tymar air filter to the turbo inlet (either connecting directly to the turbo with a 4"-to-3.5" reducer or only going as far as the pipe where the CCV tube necks down from 4"-to-3.5"). I'm going out to a exhaust shop today that supposedly does custom work with 4" pipe and if there's enough interest, I'll see what they'd charge to make more than one intake tube.

Mandrel bent tubing to match the mandrel bent exhaust !?!

that would be way cool....

only issue woudl be what type connectors to ensure no seepage of unfiltered air.....

Ix-nay on the ending-bay. :( :( :( I went by the shop and they won't/can't bend 4" pipe. The guy said they MIGHT be able to fab something up out of straight pipe and elbows, but he wasn't sure when he would even have the time to try it. I agree--a mandrel-bent intake would be quite sweet, and would undoubtedly improve flow, but apparently there isn't a shop in town who can do it. He's probably BS'ing me, since there are a number of big truck shops who deal with exhaust pipe much bigger than 4" so there's probably is someone who can bend 4" pipe, now I just have to find them.

I was thinking about something like a 4" diameter intercooler boot would work. Double-clamp it on the end of the intake pipe and the turbo inlet (provided that you have a 4" turbo inlet like what's on the ATS ported shroud compressor housing, otherwise you would have to have a 4" to 3.5" reducer welded on to the end of the intake pipe) just to make sure of a good seal and then motor on your happy way.

There's got to be someone around, especially with all the OTR trucks that run out of/pass through Cheyenne, who can work with 4" pipe. I'm on a quest now, to find that one shop who's willing to try an oddball project. It won't be cheap, for sure, since nothing custom is, but it's worth a shot.

I did pick up a piece of scrap 4" pipe, so maybe tomorrow afternoon if I get off of work early enough, I'll be swapping it in place of the stock CCV mounting pipe.:thumbs

Try an electrical supply house. Ask for 3-1/2" EMT (electric metallic tubing) elbows. They come in 90, 45 and 15 degrees. You should be able to mitre cut them and weld them back. They will be pricey though.
