New member looking for a solution.
Information:
Truck-2008 F350
Trailer- 2013 Excel 34 IKR.
Issue- When I connect the trailer 's pig tail to the truck I receive the following message from the truck "Wiring Fault on Trailer".
The Truck Integrated Brake Controller show "green" indicating a good connection to the braking system.

A local RV tech determined the Dexter Axel E/H unit was functioning when activated and the truck 7-pin connector is wired correctly. The Tech looked and found information about the GM IBC and the need for an adapter but did not find information about a Ford issue. The Tech's theory is the Dexter E/H unit drawing more amps than the IBC thinks it should. I hooked up the trailer to 2010 F350 and there was no error message.

I am turning to this form to find an answer.
Question- Have others had a similar issue? How serious is the "Wiring Fault on Trailer" message. What needs to be done to fix the issue.

Would it help to know that RV's and equipment trailers are not wired the same through the connector?

Best advise I can give you is this.. Your trailer tech should have a Power Probe and a Mutt (or Mini-Mutt is what I use)..
You can easily find what's wired goofy that way.
All RV's are wired to the same diagram.
Equipment trailers are not. I've seen three different variation.. The tail, brake and turn are always in the same spots, but the backup, trailer brake, ground and B+ locations can change.
If this is the case, have your trailer tech simply make up an adapter using two repair plugs.
