I just finished installing in- bed hookups for the gooseneck trailer, I went with the 7- round pin plug, what semis use, they hold up better and make the trailer harder to borrow :D They are also really nice to wire up with the studs on the back, using ring terminals makes wiring nice and secure (as well as easy to tie several wires together).

The other plug is 1/0 cable back to charge the battery on the trailer and help out running the 16.5K Warn winch. I put a 150 amp auto-reset circuit breaker right by the truck battery for protection.

Just thought y'all would like to see it :sweet

I got a bunch of other mods in the works on the truck, that will be another thread another day :D

Great work, got me thinking of adding 2 more RV batteries in the Box of my truck thus having 4 RV Batteries in total, I feel larger cables to the trailer would gave me lots power to power most of my utilities in the trailer without the need of a power plant. Motorhomes do have 4 Deepcell batteries and 2 Alternator. That way my 2 alternators could charge the units much faster then any portable generator could.

Good job Roy, I have thought about putting my trailer plug inside my tool box, it would keep the wiring cleaner. Looks good and I know that you use yours.

Caissiel, just going up to a 6 or 8 ga wire from the truck to the trailer will charge up the trailer batteries a lot faster. I wish RV's had 8 ga wire for the trailer brakes. Get more voltage back there.

Well that is what I do when charging my trailer batteries with booster cables, I find it takes much less time. but the Ground wire should also be larger gauge.
