Some of you might remember that my father has not been in the best of health. He has been hospitalized in Birmingham, AL since the beginning of the month.
A little after four yesterday afternoon, my father passed away. He had many health problems that eventually all came to a head at once. But the medical staff at University of Alabama Birmingham did all they could, and when they realized there was nothing else that could be done for him, they made his last hours comfortable and peaceful, in a special section of the hospital made for terminally ill patients and their families. It was more like a hotel suite than a hospital room. It made saying goodbye a lot easier.
I will have many things to do over the next few weeks and months, and I may not be here as often as I would like to be. Believe me, getting on the computer and going to this forum is one of the highlights of my day. I ask for your prayers for me and my family as we deal with the loss of my father.
