As an aside, THIS SITE IS GREAT!!, please forgive me, I digress.:thumbs

My idle is higher after putting a DIY Tymar intake and BTM Muffler on.

Is there anyway to adjust the idle? Is this normal?

Thanks,

Shannon are you sure that your not just confusing the higher idle with the fact that the truck is supposed to do that on cold days?

With the Tymar and BTM installed I'm almost positive that the EBPV will close sooner on the cold days due to better intake airflow and the new muffler helps a bunch too.

I beilieve the idle RPM's is all computer controlled.

I'm not sure of what the actual RPM was before the mod's, but the engine sounded more relaxed. The RPM isn't high now, it just seems like it is a bit higher and it feels like it could idle at a lower RPM. This may just be my perception.

This isn't a cold weather phenomena, this is all the time, thanks for checking though.

If the idle is all computer controlled, then I will be living with it. I just thought that if I could lower it, I'd try.

Thanks for the help,

Yes the idle is computer controlled. No adjustments inside, and the pilot light is soldered in place.

Since the idle is computer controlled I would bet that it's the same before and after the mods. Prolly just the difference in sound that makes you think it's idling a little higher.

Hmmm...
got me a thinkin'....

didn't notice any diff when I put the BTM on my 05 6-oh, but MAYBE the intake u put on is allowing more air at idle and therefore "easier" - smoother idling ?????

just thinking out loud here...
