E4OD was the only auto offered between 95-97, in 99 that changed to the 4R100 which is just an upgraded E4OD.

the only "easy" swap is to the 5 or 6 speed manuals, however the mildly dedicated will be able to put any transmission offered behind the T444 and T444E in international trim behind the PSD :stir

Even the 4R100 is not worth the hassle to swap in

Why not it's a direct bolt in. The only thing you have to change is the park/neutral switch and that isn't very hard.

changing the range sensor/ park/neutral switch to work in the OBS when a stock 4r100 is not tremendously stronger than an E4OD combined with the fact that if you choose to build an E4OD you put some 4r100 parts in there and there are some internal components that are stronger on the e4OD is what leads me to state that swapping the 4r100 is not really worth the effort.

I guess if your looking at it as spending the money to have one built then I'd agree. I was thinking he would look for a used one to swap with.
