Working on my turbo for the last week was fun and I loved it.

Now that I am done with that job, I need something else to do. Give me some ideas for a wrenching project.

I have been bit by the mechanic bug

I almost pulled the trigger on a Dieselsite coolant filter kit today, but after the parts I needed
for the turbo cleaning, the funds aren't readily available.

Well, I was waiting on Banks to send me a couple of washers that have a rubber insert
to seal off the bolts that go thru the intake elbow. Called them, they were sent out Monday,
but will not get to me until next Tuesday. I guess I can't complain that they
sent them by way of a slow brown truck to AL, but I didn't have to pay for the washers.

I cannot wait any longer, so I took a couple of faucet washers with the hole ever so slightly
smaller than the bolt so it would seal of any boost leaks.

Finally cranked the truck up (wasn't sure it was gonna start at first) but it finally got going.
I let it warm up for about 20 minutes and fixin' to go take it for a test run.

Can't wait to see how the newly tuned FICM makes it run. Just at idle it sounds so sweet.

Bama,

What did you have done to the FICM.........

I sent it to Power Hungry Performance in Winder, GA. They tune FICM's I have emailed them to get the low down on exactly how they tune it and if they tune based on the mods that each individual truck has.

No answers back so far. From what I have read from those who have done, it was well worth the money. If I can get 1mpg back and better overall performance, then I will be a happy camper.
