After about 4 hrs last night and about the same today, I got my 6 oh intercooler with the GTS kit installed in my 96. Its a pretty good project all by yourself! Its real late so I did'nt take her for a spin but I'll report back on how she does. Is their anything in particular that I need to check...keep a eye on ect??? Thanks
Layne

Well I drove it around today. Their is a little lag, The only way I can tell that is by the boost gauge. Runs as good or better than before. And go figure, my pyro went haywire so I cant tell egt difference. My max boost was 19-20 psi before. Know the most I can get is 15-16psi. Is this normal? At normal crusing speed(65-70) the boost is down also.

Now I cant wait till I get the dough to do the rest!!

that sounds low on the boost, I can get around 25psi if I really have my foot in it.

stock injectors put out about 16-18 psi of boost.stage 1s wil do 20-25psi,stage 2s will do about 30-35psi.it is normal to lose about 5-6 psi of boost with an intercooler.put you boost line on the hot side and you will still have the same amount of boost you had before you installed the IC.

I had thought about moving the map/boost pressure line. where is the best place for it? Anybody got pics of where htey moved theirs. It also should help reduce the lag by letting the MAP see more psi ....allowing more fuel...right???

leave the map line where it is it doesnt matter on the OBS trucks.you can move the boost gauge line if you wish but when you start going bigger and better on injectors and stuff you will need to know what you have for boost going into the engine.

Well.....I leave it where its at then. Thanks for the info Rich. How does the MAP work on our trucks then? I thought the more psi it saw...the more fuel the pcm would allow?
