I Got A Snow Day!!!

Here in the north central U.P., a Blizzard warning went into effect at 2pm Tuesday. It was replaced by a Winter Storm Warning that won't expire until 8pm Friday. They sent me home from work yesterday at 2pm. Today, even tough I don't have any trouble getting there in my truck, I was told "Don't Bother" coming in. Apparently there is now so much snow in the lot at work, nothing can be moved at all and it's still coming down. All the service bay doors have 5'+ snow drifts in front of them.

While we've had April snowstorms before, the weather guy on the local TV station says this will be one for the record books.

The ironic thing is the very last tiny patch of snow anywhere on my property, melted away in my front yard on Monday.

I think I'll go clean about 1.5' snow out the driveway before it becomes 3'.

Well, no snow down here to speak of, but I sure wish CRUMM would quit sending all his arctic air down here, it's supposed to be APRIL, not January. -mad

Sposta be 80* here today. We've only had about 40% of the normal rain fall..guna be a DRY, DRY summer. Lots of Wild Fires I'll bet

The Winter Storm Warning has just been extended until 8am Sunday. I've been living here in Da U.P. for 25 of the last 32 years. I have never seen a Winter Storm last for more than 5 days straight.

5th of April and I've got a foot and a half of new snow in a yard that was nothing but grass Tueday morning. And we're likely to get another 1 to 2 feet on top of that.

Excuse me if I'm rather skepticle of the stuff Al Gore has been spouting lately.

I'd like that bozo to see the 2' of "global warming" I just spent 1 1/2 hours out of my driveway and will likely have to do it all over again before Saturday evening.
