I got the new 203 thermastat last week but did not have time 'till today to install it. I also installed a new block heater and cord. WOW!!! This truck actually heats up now, I don't have to drive around for 30 minutes to get heat. There must have been something wrong with my old 203 stat and it was letting coolant through the radiator when it was not supposed to. I'm SO happy to have heat once again!!!!!!!!!:thumbs

I knew there wasnt something right. Glad you pin pointed the problem down to a faulty thermostat.

had heat by the end of the driveway out of the park.

coasting down the mountain the egts, dropped all the way down to 150,
holding at 65mph, with a nice rumble through the exhaust

Glad to hear you found the source of your NO HEAT

It's much nicer to drive now. The heat is actually hot compared to the luke-warm heat I was getting before. I knew there was something going on with my truck, but did not have time to look at it. I look forward to driving it now :)

How long ago did you install the 203 thermo you just pulled out?

I'm not sure if there's a method to determine the Bob Riley 203 thermo was defective, did you bring it up to Bob if you spoke to him?

Nope, just threw it in the trash. I didn't really care that much cause it was a cheap part.

Sure glad to hear you got it figured out! That T-stat was a heck of a lot cheaper than a $650 diesel-fired block heater!

Oh yeah! A lot cheaper! I did not have my truck plugged in last night, sat for 6 hours in 12 degree weather. I had heat in about 10 minutes. MUCH better than before.
