Hey guys. Just signed up today. I already found some real good info. This is the coolest website yet. One question for yall. I am curious to see if any one makes a idle up switch, you know like the big rigs have, especially for those cold mornings and I am known for letting my truck idle for good period of time. I want to say that I read about it somewhere but can't remember where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome!

You can get the factory Auxiliary Idle Control (AIC) or also called an Auxiliary Powertrain Control Module (APCM) that will plug right in to your truck (probably off ebay for $100 or so). Alternatively, you can make your own setup (like I have) for about $20 or so depending on "options" that can do what you want. It won't have the cool factor of the factory unit, but it functions well for the purpose you described (also helps out for AC operation at idle in summer too). Welcome to SDD! Patrick covered your first question well, another option you have is to add a multi position performance chip with a high idle setting burned on it.
