my friend just bought an early '99 psd a few months ago and after buggin' him for awhile, he finally let me put a 10k mod on it using a 5.6k resistor. well that is the most smoke i've ever seen from a truck with just a 10k mod. 
... so after that i got suspicious to what may be done to the truck. i took the 10k off b/c he didn't like the rough idle and we started diggin' around under the dash. i found a 4 pos. turn knob and after following the wires i finally found a chip jammed up in the middle of that mess of wires under the dash. after plugging the chip in this truck smokes it's ***** off!!!! and it runs like a scaldin' ape too. i was trying to figure out what kind of chip this thing has, but have had no luck. any ideas? i think his truck has a set of bigger injectors in it also b/c the guy that owned it before him said it has new injectors and a built tranny that had $4500 spent on it. any ideas on how i can find out what kind of chip this is? i can't get ahold of the previous owner.
