On my 02 I have one original front hub/bearing assembly with 190,000 miles on it and the other one I had to replace at about 130,000 miles. I have never had any problems with tapered bearings like you have as long as the seals stay good and keep the water out. The never style one piece hub and bearing units (non-greasable) suck and they are fairly expensive.

As long as your bearings have no flat spots on the rollers and the races are in good shape I would just repack them again.

As for miles on my bearings, all of em. Repacked em and replaced the seals for good measure while I had the spindles off for ball joints, that was around 95k if I rem right. But, what patrick said, if you keep em clean, lubed, and adjusted properly they will last a VERY long time, and oh yeah, unitized hub and bearings SUCK, they don't last forever and they are a ton more money than plain ole tapered bearings and seals. Helped my buddy put one on his 1 ton SD, we get parts at cost and it still cost him ~450 bucks just for the part. On the flip side though you don't get greasy packin em and you don't have to get them adjusted right.
