At my mom's house in Louisiana, she's having a problem with "flying" squirrels. Two or three years ago, they were in a couple of small storage sheds she has behind the house, so she started feeding them. Now they've made a nuisance and destroyed several items that are stored in the shed. She stopped feeding them awhile back, but they're still there. I saw a couple of them running around there yesterday afternoon. She put out some D-Con rat poison, hoping this will work, but if you all have any other ideas, please let me know. I thought about using the .22 rifle but didn't want to put any holes in the shed, plus my aim isn't very good (haven't practiced much lately). For anyone who is unfamiliar with a "flying" squirrel, here's a link: http://www.flyingsquirrels.com/

Use a 12 gauge, you don't need to be a good shot. If the squirrel is towards the North, point and shoot in that general direction.

Moth balls will run them and anything else hiding in there out if you don't want to murder the poor lil creatures.

What momma did was had Dad p ut up some fine screen meshing from there flying tree to there nest.

They flew into the net and if it didnt hang them they droped and died from the fall..

Or Since its a shed and you know there in there go get a old school smoke bomb meant for killing roachs int he house and set it off in there.. They wont come back..

Damn momma and her suger gliders..

Thanks for the tips. I actually had thought about the smoke bombs, but not about the moth balls. I'll call her and tell her to get either or both the next time she makes a trip to town.
