I have been working for a couple of weeks on a center console to replace the useless jump seat (5sp makes a soprano out of anyone that dare sit there!). I finally finished it and put it in today. I am no carpenter by any stretch of the imagination but the link in my sig line will show what it looks like.

I used birch plywood (b/c grade) and used a mohogany/polyurethane to finish it. I forgot the hinges so the lids are just sitting on top at the moment.

Cab lights are scheduled for next weekend.

Looks good enough to keep some treasure in there! Like a strongbox or something.:cowboy: Pretty decent woodworking if I do say so myself.

thanks for the compliments! I had an idea today - I may leave the front lid off. I had planned on cutting out cup holders but the shift lever hits the lid going into 2nd. It clears if I leave it off so I was wondering what I would do for cup holders. It occurred to me that horse shoes with a little metal tab welded on to secure them to the box would make interesting cup holders. They would go in the front section of the box and simply leave the lid off.
