Howdy All,
Just got in from my clinical at the hospital today (last semester). Currently, I am at a hospital known for their cardiovascular surgeons. I was introduced to one cardio-vascular surgeon, he was a nice fellow, exchanged greetings and moved along. The nurse I was walking with then proceded to tell me how this doc had closed his private practice when we went to war with Iraq, joined the US Army and served in a forward operating area IN IRAQ as a surgeon. If I could recall his name I would post it, but I am sure that would just embaress him.
Our troops who needed as BAD A## surgeon ASAP to save their lives got one. By no means am I insinuating the Docs in the Military aren't any good, some probably just don't have the expertise this man does.
Anyways, it gave me chills as I thought about the Doc and Pat Tillman today, and the countless unknown others who stepped aside from their well paying safe jobs, put on a uniform and answered their Nation's call. "Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for YOUR Country"
Just wanted to share this and say God Bless to all of those out there tonight in the ARMED FORCES, the men and women in blue and those who have F.D. on some part of their clothing.

Hopefully you can go back and find his name and post it for us. We'd all like to send him our thanks. He's definitely a hero for his unselfish service to our country.

That is awesome! The World and the US specifically need more people like that!! What hospital are you at and what are you doing clinicals for?
