My 2000 PSD Excursion with 126k puked out all its oil from the turbo area. I removed the turbo and pedestal. O-rings will be replaced, but were not damaged in any way. It seems the oil was coming out from the pedestal where the EBPV rod comes out. Can oil get out from there? I added some pics, and it seems to me that's where the oil came from. If so, what's the cheapest way to fix it? Only mods are SCT and intake. I will be adding exhaust and a wicked wheel since all this crap is disassembled. Also my impeller on the exhaust side does not look so good, where can I find a replacement? There is no endplay in the turbo shaft, only very slight side to side play, maybe .25mm. What's the deal with the non EBPV pedestal and what are the effects of switching over to this? Is there any complete write ups on this mod? Thanks in advance.

Yes

The EBPV is used for quicker warm-up times. When it is real cold out(-40)the engine will never warm up without it. If you live in a warmer climate where it does not drop below zero the EBPV is not really needed. If you live in a freezer and get rid of the EBPV you will be :crumm

Both mine and the wifes are deleted, it takes a bit longer to warm but nothing BAD... You can pull the rod, cut it and then tap the hole and install a pipe plug... works great!

The EBPV rod seal is a real booger,it can go at any time or just trickle oil out making it seem like the o-rings.

I'd remove the EBPV altogether as it'd be one less thing to have a chance to leak oil.

Thanks for the info guys. Would it be smarter just to buy a non EBVP pedestal or to try and plug up the existing one? I also have to remove the butterfly in the exhaust side of the turbo correct? What is the proper way to do that, and what about the impeller on the exhaust side? Is it toast? Should I get a new one? Sorry about all the ?'s but I am a newbie at ripping into this motor.
