I don't drive my 2008 F350 diesel everyday, but lately I've been driving it more. Lately, I noticed that the 1st gear indicator is always dimly on. It's dimly red even when the engine is off and the vehicle is locked. The truck drive fine and doesn't have any issues. I'm worry that this will eventually drain the batteries. When the truck is running the red light behind the 1st gear indicator is dimly on. Any help is appreciated.

We need to know more about yer 08.... Mod wise.
Any 12v add-on's ? That kinda thing.
How many miles on the odometer ? Because the dim light is Trans related.. you might be able to take it back to Ford.. under the Drive-Train Warranty ?

No mods done to the truck and no performance mods done. Its stock. I had a car alarm and an overhead DVD entertainment center installed in August 2007. Both have been working for close to seven years and no problems. I just noticed the dimly lit 1st gear light on about a week ago. Its on even it the vehicle is off and locked. lt's only got about 25,000 miles in 6 1/2 years. I only use it recreationally to tow the boat and haul supplies. I have a company car for my daily commuter. I'm sure its out of warranty. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find any similar problems.
