Heater bypass and which valve?

I am looking at doing the AC heater mod. I have a valve from a newer F250 that only shuts off the supply line to the heater core. I noticed that most guys have gone with the Ford Ranger style valve that allows the coolant to return to the in line of the waterpump. Is the single style okay to run on the Powerstroke or do I need to get the style with the return. I noticed on Dieselsite the one they sell is the single valve style but I was worried this might restrict coolant flow from the head. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

If you look at your heater hose lines, they run into the cab in a loop. Got a heater control valve for a 97 Ranger truck and installed it. Runs off vaccum lines in the cab and keeps that hot coolant out of the cab whenever the Vent,AC, or Max AC switch is on. Cut both heater hoses, installed the valve. Get the clamps that go from 1-3/4" to 3/4". You don't want the smaller 7/8" clamps, trust me on this HAHA. Ran a 7/32" vacuum line into the cab. Theres a knockout plug near the floor you can route it thru on the passenger side so no drilling required. Cut the RED! vacuum line and Tee-d into it. You cant miss the vacuum lines, just drop your glove box and they are right there on the left.

My truck is equipped with rear a/c & heat for the a/c to work there needs to be a valve to close off circulation to the rear heater core. My truck was originally equipped with a single valve on the hose running to the heater cores and suffered no problems for the first 160k then the valve developed a leak. I replaced it with the valve from a 2000 explorer which has the return simply because I think it is a better option.
