Any tips for how to change my headlight ('02) and where to buy one? I googled a get lots of different sets...ranging from $75 on up. Any sponsors I should look at??

My passenger side light reflectors are screwed up from a bulb (HID) popping loose and arcing some stuff all over the surface.

Purdy straight forward deal. When you get the new one(s), you can see what needs to be done to remove the old assembly. Those little clipy, holder, retainer thingies can be a PIA but just Go Slow. Piece'a cake.

The right side is pretty easy, but the left one is a royal P I T A!!!! My left one has gone out twice, and I have taken it to a shop for replacement. I didn't want to deal with the effort to change it, but the right one was no problem at all.

You have run through 2 sets on 1 side...!!! It must be a sealed beam unit?

I replaced my 01 SD head light assemblys with Anzo units. I couldn't believe the difference they made. They are the clear head light assemblys similar to the ones the new trucks have. The part number is #111081 and theyl fit 99-04 SD Fords. check'em out on line, I think you will like what you see.

Ok, here is what the removed clips look like, and the clip on one of the headlamp connectors. I cannot remember what I did last time to get them off w/o busting them. Any tips? :dunno

The one to the inside top is pretty reduced clearance to get at those side tabs. I guess I need to pry each out while lifting the tab, but they aren't being very cooperative.

Well...I got it out. The socket idea worked on the bottom outside connector, but the two on top are a pain. I found that a sharp awl pressed into the front slot on one side (only one side has the slot) of each clip helped to expand it away from the nut, but still ended up bending them both a bit while lifting out. But I bent 'em back into shape w/o breaking them.

FYI, here's what I found. The bulb is a bi-xenon and it had been scorching the lens pretty bad. I will see about replacing before reinstall!

RSG.. (All) If you study those clips yul see they can be mod'd just a bit.. so they'll still serve their purpose as a shim/clip but can be removed much easier.. next time 'round (if there needs to be a.. next time 'round)

I mod'd mine with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

To hard to explain it in words.. but if you stare at'm long enough, yul see what I'm saying.
