We're going to buy an LCD, HD, TV, while the Prices are Low(er)

Right now it's a toss up between a 32" Sony Brava and a 32" Fisio. Don't need anything bigger cuz our Living-room doesn't need anything bigger, and we want to stick with our present Entertainment Center thingy.

My question is: Is there anything LEGAL I can buy, Receiver wise, to keep from having to pay DISH Network another 20 bucks for High Def ? It has occurred to me, We're paying almost 100 Bucks a month, to watch TV with those folks. The extra 20, would make it 100 bucks. :rant:eek:

Any Ideas or Opinions :dunno

I know someone who pirates Dish Network. I have Comcast cable and Dish Network service. I could not tell you anything other than that.

I would opt for something closer to 40", you can find them under $1000 easy ;tu

As far as HD for DISH network, the LEGAL answer is NO, if you want HD thru them, you will have to PAY for it ;)

Either way, Legal or not, you will have to PAY.

UNLESS you are close enuff to the towers to get OTA HDTV.

OTA HD broadcast is your only "free" option for HD and then you're limited to the broadcast networks, assuming they even broadcast an HD signal in your area. Your TV will need a built in HD tuner, or you will need to purchase a separate tuner to do that.

As for the TV, go with Sony over Vizio. Simple decision there IMO.

I bought an Envision 32" LCD HDTV on Black Friday at Staples for 449.00 plus tax.

Very happy with it too.

I do have one question. I have Digital cable thru Charter Communications. I can go to the HD channels, but no picture. Is there something I need to do to get it to working?

How is it hooked up? What type of connection?

I really do need to upgrade also, still using the 52" rear projection (7 years old) and I never have liked it.
