Here are a couple pics of the welded grille guard I put on a few months ago. It was a closeout deal, and is full stainless.

The thing I don't like about this one is the lack of protection for the grille itself. There is a big space in the middle with no coverage. I am thinking to add either 2 or 3 316 SS tubes in the center (the same size as the upper tubes) but I was wondering what others think would look the best. :thanks

Roy, I think you can put at least 2 of the bars across there can't you?
Looks good.

Yes I was thinking I could get a tube shop to bend the centers up and down some too so the :oval is still visible...

what are the vertical members? the charcoal gray ones? material? finish?

tubes are nice, but PITA to bend them to any shape without the proper tools to make look nice.

if it was me (and i have the toys to do it) i would do two horizontal bars even with the two louvers on the grill, and then two vertical ones inline with the louver supports. think 3/16x3".

you could get the vert plates cut to a slight curve on the outside so it mimics the profile of the front of the guard. the horizontal ones, get cut to match the radius of the grill. from head on, you would not be projecting into the airstream.

then i would send to 'Bama's polishing shop to get all nice and shiney before i put it on my truck.
