yeah they're saying here in Atlanta that we're due for remnants passing through on sunday and guess what it's going to bring some more rain gee just what I wanted

What a sleeper. I "rode out" Ivan last year and it DIDNT EVEN RAIN!
We evecuated the city, and sent everyone east and west. Well, those that went East got screwed! Right into the heart of the beast.
Historically speaking tho, New Orleans most damaging storms have been class-1 or lower storms. Its not the wind they fear, its the water! and these lower category storms tend to have lots of water and not much wind.
Either way, not concerned, and I can move my truck and trailer to higher ground (the superdome plaza level) if need be.

My wife is from Ft. Walton Beach FL, and her parents still live there. They got alot of damage from Ivan last year. She is used to that type of weather. But up here in the midwest she is scared to death of tornado's. I would figure that the hurricanes cover a wide area and your bound to get hit with something, the tornados are a narrow area, and I have lived here all my life and haven't seen one yet. Got close though Wed

I'll take the earthquakes and volcanoes over those twisters and hurricanes anyday!!
Our stuff sneaks up on you and then its over for a couple decades. You guys get ANNUAL crap to worry about, and usually have a good buildup to get all panicky over.

I was watching the news when that was going through. How smart is that, lets FLY over near that cloud because it looks like a tornado is about to drop They did get some killer video of it though. I got pounded with the wind and rain, no hail. My parents were out at Hillsdale lake in there TT and the park rangers made everyone go to the shower houses for cover. My dad said the water moved about 7 to 8 foot up closer to the trailer after that storm went through.

I was on a submarine in dry dock. Lights went out. That is the definition of dark. 18000 tons does move. Not to mention the 400# we had swinging from a chain fall at the time. Personnally, I'll take the snow storms we had in Buffalo over anything. That stuff eventually melts.

I saw them flying around about 1/2 mile from my house, I am a pilot, and you wouldn't catch me that close to a thunderstorm let alone one that could produce a tornado.
It was about to drop, just waiting for it to happen.It's amazing that I could be so close and not even getting rain.
