Been having problems starting for a year or more. Truck has 236,000 miles, and I know the plugs and relay hasn't been replaced since I got it, back when it had 146k on it...for that matter, nothing major has been done on it since that time. I was planning on just replacing all of the glow plugs, and the relay. I've got a couple of questions. What else should I be doing while I'm in there? Maybe replace the injector o-rings? Inspect the injectors for build-up?

Can I use high-temp RTV for a gasket, or is it better to buy a gasket kit for the valve covers?

Glow plugs, injector orings and maybe new valve cover gaskets.

The gaskets are not your run of the mill valve cover gaskets. They are reuseable gaskets with wire harness connections in them.

Here are some pics from a NBS 7.3.

Definitely glow plugs and Injector O-Rings....

But if your pullin the injectors, you might wanna look into rebuilding them and adding a lil more power...

I know that alot of ppl have had success w/ the DIY Stage 1's. http://www.diy-injectors.com/

Best of Luck,
