I just ordered my gauges. I guess I worry too much about my truck and got fed up with not knowing what my EGT is before I shut it down. I've heard it doesn't take long to cool down but in a week or two I'll know for sure. So stand by as I'm sure this will not go smoothly and I'll need some help.

Once I get stateside I'll start the big stuff such as the intake and exhaust. Probably around March or April. Got plenty of time for research but so far I think its going to be MBRP exhaust and AFE Stage II intake. Still haven't settled on a computer mod. I was going to go with Edge but after some digging, it seems that alot of you guys like SCT and from what I've read, it may be better. Still doing homework on that one. After using Hypertech on my GMC I will never use it again. I think it caused some of the computer problems I was having. Random warning lights would start flashing and some gauges would go nuts.

I too was worried about how quickly the EGT's were dropping prior to shutdown. This time of year is takes less than a minute to get below 200*. When the temps were 80*+, it seemed to take few minutes. The most suprising thing to me was how quickly the EGT's increase when you mash the go pedal.

What type of gauges did you buy?

I got the Autometer Ultralights. EGT, tranny and boost. After looking at a bunch of different brands the decision came down to cosmetics and I think the Autometer ones look the best.

Did you check out the ISSPRO gauges @ dieselmanor.com. They're gauges match the stock gauges & light up the same as well. I think those will be what I order when my '07 6.0L gets here.

Im about to install gauges in my 06 E350, but am a little worried about a warrenty void on installing the pyro. I got the Auto Meter Phantom's from Summit Racing, they were the only supplier that I could find to have a A pillar gauge pod. One thing is that installing the pyro in the van will be nothing, because removing the "dog house" gets right at the manifolds.

I have a Di-Pricol boost gauge I bought from ITP and IMO it looks a lot nicer (and closer to factory) than the ISSPRO it replaced.

Good luck with Autometer's Quality control. I hope all of your gauges will be even colored. I can only wonder if Autometer has such bad control on my Nexus gauges, what kind of quality control they have for the cheaper gauges.
