OK, gauges gotta get me some gauges and I need your opinions.
I'm looking at a couple of options but I'd appreciate some feedback.
Do I go 4 gauge pillar or 3 gauge. Trans, Boost, Pyro and probably Water.

I was wondering if anyone is running a 4 gauge pillar and does it "look" too crowded. If I go 3 pillar I would probably go with 3 more over the mirror for that outrageous look, (g).
Standard 3 in the pillar and water temp, oil pressure and oil temp in the overhead cluster.

Also, who's gauges would you recommend that fit nice with the dash gauges, especially at night.

Many thanks and all your feedback is appreciated

I have Autometer gauges and I like them. You should look at all of the types of gauges that you are considering and choose. It is your truck.

I ike the dipricol or however the heck it's spelled... they do teh same color changes that our stock ones do. The only problem is they are expensive. I'm a cheap bastard so I'm working on geting some VDO vision series gauges, and drilling some targeted holes in the cases and going LED. It's gonna take some messing around, but I found a place that has them dirt cheap. I'm sarting with a 20 dollar voltmeter.

I'll probably end up with the over mirror 4 pod, pyro, boost, tranny, and oil pressure.

I have the DiPricol gauges. Pyro, Boost and Tranny. They have the same layout as the factory dash. Black face, red/orange needle, white numbers in day. Looks green at night. I have the 3 pod over the mirror. Had to relocate the mirror down a few inches. I believe that they have a 4 pod for over the mirror. Look up CSIPSD, he has alllllllllll the gauges!! You may have to buy from several dealers, depending on who you go with. A few only sell the basic three. Depending on what you want that 4th gauge to be, you may want to go with a different brand. The DiPricol offering is kind of limited.

I have autometer phantoms and do not really like them. first, they do not sit all the way down into the pod, also an autometer product. Second, and this is apparently common, the boost gauge tends to stick and you have to give it a tap to make it register sometimes. Third, their customer service is the worst. If a 4 gauge pod existed for my year I would have gotten one and added the water temp. I do not think they look over-crowded at all.

i have 4 gauge pod with pyro, boost, trans temp and coolant temp. crowded- kinda. arrange your gauges so you are not taking your eyes off the road often. in order-

boost- i can glance up a hair to see it
pyro - eye level
trans - glance down
coolant - LOOK down

I got my Isspro gauges from Diesel Manor. David is not a sponsor (yet). He has given me GREAT customer service. Pyro has been flaky since day one. I left messages on both Memorial day weekend AND 4th of July weekend and he called me back promptly.

look at my sig for link on photo diary. i could not get pic of all the gauges in one picture.

Ive got autometers...and theyre RELIABLE & function perfectly,
my boost guage has NEVER stuck...my guages fit perfectly fine
in the double (now forsale) and the triple A-pillar pod.

I started w/ 2 guages...boost & egt and later changed it out for
a 3 guage pod.

personally i like the guages but i think 3 is a bit crowded...i cant imagine
that 4 would be any better.

Ya know, I was just looking at the dipricol ones... do the needle and background light up separate? I thought they were supposed to, but now I'm not so sure... This is why I'm cutting up a set of VDO's...

Kleetus,

The DiPricol's are 100% LED lighted and the needle has it's own etc. The pyro is also a stepper motor design and is the most accurate and fast reacting etc. You can now get their tranny temp in a stepper motor design if you want costs more but is 270 degree sweep and is very nice!! Call us if you have any questions on them, we'll be glad to help.
