Fuel tank sender going south?

My front tank fuel sender is acting weird. It registers the correct amount of fuel while driving BUT when I stop the truck at a light the needle goes way past full, farther than it ever has. Once I start driving again it eventually reads the correct fuel level. What's going on here? BTW, my rear tank sender works fine.
