Have to tell you my story,

Fuel pump was leaking for a week or so got a new one and needed to change it out before the holiday weekend, truck was at home and you know I have the most awesome wife in the world she called and asked me what she could do to help, BTW IMO she is hot too and rides bikes with me and raises 5 boys with me-anyway enough bragging.

She took the intake off for me and got everything out the way and I told her to just hold off on the pump itself, got home broke the pump lose put new hoses on and put the new one in-yes I got the bottom hose off and on the bowl without taking the bowl out, was thinking man I'm good http://oilburners.net/forums/images/smilies/Thumbup19.gif
:sweet

All was well right up until I figured I would take my shim out of the FPR and measure the pressure with the new pump-took the plug out and pulled the spring out and proceeded to drop that triangular piece into the valley under the HPOP :(

Guess what-had to pull the intake and bowl off anyway to fish that sucker out ended up doubling my pump replacement time but all is well, no leaks. :)

Attached a file of my helper catching a whopper :)

My helper used to question why it took so long to change the glow plugs until she dug into just the intake and big nut on the fuel pump and realized I wasn't just taking my time and there is a reason my hands look like freddy kreuger's.

Dean--MOST EXCELLENT. Keep up the good work. Used to work in a shop where the favorite expression was "hurry-up screw-up" but not in those exact words.
Need more fuel for the stage II's:sweet?
Hope the week-end went well--Joe
