I am trying to help a friend that doesn't have the access to the forums.

He has a '97 F250 PSD. He is getting about a quart of fuel every 500 miles in his oil. He has changed the mechanical pump and is still getting the fuel in the oil. His injector o-rings were replaced about a year ago.

Any ideas?

leaky injectors, possibly
at shut down they may be bleeding off ?
does he get a fuel smell from the air intake filter when its shut off?
does it start right up or sort of miss a bit then run smooth?

even 02 7.3's had injector leak down issues

did the fuel issue start after the o rings where changed?, possible an inj. got dropped or ???

He said it does miss but not all the time.

Fuel issue just started in the last couple of weeks.

I will ask him on the other items you mentioned.

Since this isnt a dire diesel down issue I'll move this to the 94-97 forum where it will be seen by more folks.

your best bet is to pull em all,
even if you ran individ inj test electronically its not to tell you which one is leaking down, at shut down.

IMO, its easier and faster to pull em all, take em and have them flow tested or get rebuilts.

My friend just has stock injectors,

Yep when mine go I will call Beans Diesel Performance, great guy to deal with.

I wasn't sure if the buzz test would tell which on or not, I don't know anyone near by that cane do the test, and I bet the stealership isn't cheap.

I guess I was just thinking along the lines that since you have already dealt with Ryan previously that he would be very willing to answer pertinent injector questions from you. And at Ryans decent pricing, it may be a very good route to go for your friend to pick up a set of modified/rebuilt injectors from BDP.
