hi all, i need to replace my fuel filter and i think i read it can be a messy job any input ?? and what about wix filters ?? motorcraft ??? thanks for any help.. dante59..
Its not a bad job at all. I use a long screwdriver as my wrench to span the top of the lid. Loosen it a hair and if fuel starts to seep out I flip the drain lever for a split second. Finish removing the lid and pull the filter. Now is a good time to inspect your fuel color in the cannister, hopefully it is clean. Now drain the bowl the rest of the way down and inspect the bottom of the bowl for crud/crap and or damage. Clean it out and put your new filter in and screw the lid on.
I get my filters at NAPA and am not to brand specific. WIX is what I think I got last time.
hey !!! thanks for the input, I appreciate it very much .. We are so darn lucky we are AMERICANS,, and can do the things we do .. i never forget the price tag is high.. CHEERS !!! DANTE59 ( RICH)
