Fuel Bill is getting retarded

I cant keep with this fuel bill its pushing $500 a month then truck payment, So what i did is bought a 1991 Jetta with the 1.6L Turbo diesel 68Hp version Just had top end rebuilt all new shocks and struts $1800 alum rims. If i can stay out of my truck it will pay for itself in less then a year.

I am in the $500 to $600 a month range too. I have been looking to see what is out there. Trying to find a decent, cheap vehicle that gets 25+ mpg's. Now that the A/C is fixed in the wifes car, we will be driving it alot more.

That is one thing i have to try and do is put ac back in it, he took it out i dont know why forgot to ask

What kind of mileage do you expect it to get?

He is getting 41 mpg with it depending how he drives it. He can get 1000km to a tank but on average he gets 900 km

That's what I'm looking for. My bill is almost $1000 a month. Any older diesel VW's that get turned in to a dealer here lasts about an hour on the lot.

I've switched to bio to save some $$ but I'd like to save a little more if possible...
