Well, with 147,000+ mile, the time has come for the front hubs to be replaced. I did the ball joints three years ago, and wish I would have done the hubs just to have them done. Oh well.

Since I am taking this apart, should the front universal joint be replaced? I do little four wheeling, usually only to get the hunting ground. What brand, part number would you recommend?

Also, I have a leak out of the passenger side axle. Would that be fixed by the two axle seal, like doing a ball joint replacement, or is there another seal I need to find and replace?

Thanks for the help.

what's the matter with the hubs?
if they work, I'd leave it be. I'm of the school where I don't spend money unless I have to, but I'm not afraid to get the best when I do..

yeah, IF and when you take the hubs apart, that's a great time to pull the axles and change the axle joints.. I put Precision joints in mine.. can't remember the exact part number, but the ones that had the flat zerk in the end cap...

there's a seal down in the tube that's a real SOB to change.. that's the one that's leaking..

so far I've let mine leak... it doesn't leak that bad... just enough to keep the tube damp.
